His father wants him to study medicine because more money is involved in it.
At 11, he was sent off
to study in a Jesuit Monastery
Galileo died in 1642, while under house arrest imposed upon him by the Roman Catholic
Church. In 1992, the Church acknowledged that its condemnation of Galileo was a mistake.
Galileo helped develop the scientific method by using experimentation to test
physical theories.
Galileo constructed the first thermometer.
Galileo's family moved in 1574 to Florence where started his formal education at the Camaldolese monastery in Vallombrosa.
In 1583 Galileo attended the University of Pisa to study medicine. He became fascinated with many subjects specifically physics and mathematics .
Unfortunately in 1585 Galileo was unable to earn his degree due to financial difficulties.
He created a thermoscope

He made great discoveries in applied science and fundamental science.
He came up with the theory of tides and heliocentrism
